Our story of our engagement has been a long time coming. My Fiancé, James and I have been dating for nine and a half years. We are high school sweethearts, and for the last year or so have seen many of our close friends get engaged. Little did I know James also had a ring, for SEVEN months before he proposed to me in Mexico just over a month ago. He bought me the ring of my dreams (the ring that I had hinted many times at). The only problem he said was that he called the store just to check and they said that they had sold the ring and no longer carried it. This was the truth; little did I know it was James who bought the last one 
. Also another problem was that this ring was in the states, and how would he ever get it without me finding out? (He always made a big deal about it being important that I would be surprised and not be expecting it). My mom happened to be travelling to the states last year and those two sneaksters arranged it all! My mom came back to Canada with my ring and held onto it along with a precious secret for 7 months. When she dropped us off at the airport she started crying and at the time, I thought she was just being my over emotional mom. It all became a lot clearer why she was acting this way the next evening. James and I went for a private dinner on the beach our second night there, and to me this was not unusual, because James is very romantic and we have always wanted to do this. Towards the very end of our dinner he told me some amazing things, got down on one knee, and popped the question. It probably took me over a minute to actually look at the ring and realize that it was “THE RING”. I was just in so much shock, so after the first shock of the proposal came, the second shock and amazement of my new ring was a whole other surprise on top of everything. The next two weeks we spent in Mexico were amazing and we were able to celebrate our best friends getting married there, and they now look forward to our destination wedding in 2013!

Like you can see my studio is moody and dark and boudoir photography created there has this vintage, cabaret look.
