How did you meet:
Luc and I would have first crossed paths when we played together on a Co-Ed Soccer team at the age of 5 but we officially became friends while attending Bev Facey High School together. I kept him in the ‘Friend Zone’ until the end of our Grade 12 year (lucky for me he waited!)
Engagement, proposal story:
We were in Banff for a little weekend getaway. While walking our dogs down by the Bow River, Luc decided that we should sit down and take a little rest so we found a fallen tree and sat down beside each other. I kept complaining about how the grass around the tree was itching my butt and asked if we could keep walking but he said “lets just stay here a few more minutes.” And so I sat there looking all around me at the beautiful surroundings – the mountains, the water, the trees. Next thing I know, Luc pulls a ring box out of his pocket, opens it up, and asks me to marry him! It was completely unexpected so the first thing out of my mouth was “REALLY?!?! … Are you kidding?!?!”
It was no joke and obviously I said YES!
How do you like to spend time together:
Listening to country music, watching sports, and hanging out with our pups (Norman and Kipton)
Wedding theme/motif/what inspired your style:
We went with a “Woodsy Mountain” theme inspired by the natural beauty of the Rocky Mountains.
Your best moment/most unexpected moment:
How can we pick just one?! There were a lot of really awesome/unexpected moments throughout the day – the first look, the dogs being able to attend the ceremony, 7 year old Forrest singing “Give It All We Got Tonight” by George Strait. It was the BEST DAY EVER!
Wedding song:
I Don’t Dance by Lee Brice.
Luc heard this song for the first time while listening to ‘The Highway’ on Sirius Satellite Radio. He downloaded it on iTunes and played it for me as soon as he got home. It just felt right.
Favourite wedding detail (favours, cake, food, band, etc.):
Not really a ‘detail’ but the overall atmosphere of the wedding and the way everything came together was absolutely amazing.
